FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was working as a full-time model, and had always wanted to learn photography. When I ended up in a wheelchair, I had tons of free time to learn. My first shoot was a paid shoot, and I started getting multiple requests after that. I guess after working around cameras for so many years, I had a knack for it! Oh, and don't worry, I can walk now. Though, being in a wheelchair did have some advantages as a photographer....
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I mostly photograph events, headshots, and products.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you are a model or actor, be careful whom you go to. I used to work in office for a talent agency. Talent would bring us new photos that they paid hundreds of dollars on, and we couldn't use the photos at all. You need to go to someone who knows what they're doing, not just someone who owns a camera. Many photographers will direct you to do certain poses, or add certain effects that just make the photos unusable. Also, if the photographer does not know how to get amazing expression and energy out of you, than the photos will not do much of anything for you.
