What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you inquire as to experience, knowledge, and current website portfolio. Many developers will sell any technology, even if they don't know it. They plan on simply billing through the research time and getting paid to learn on your dollar. Also, many web developers don't do the work themselves, they outsource it (often to India), and collect their fee by "project managing." These companies usually charge $130/hr or more, and the customer experience is usually drawn-out more than necessary and is unduly frustrating.
