Hiring a contractor for a complete home renovation felt like a big gamble, but American Reliable made the entire experience much easier than we expected. With a family of five, we needed a home that was not only beautiful but also practical and comfortable for everyday life.Their crew brought our ideas to life and helped us make smart choices along the way. We were impressed by the quality of the work, the professionalism of the crew, and how seriously they took the project. They paid attention to the little things, kept the work moving, and made sure the finished results met our expectations.Seeing the transformation from the original house to our renovated home was amazing. We love the way everything came together, and our family is enjoying the space so much more now.We are already talking about renovating another property in the future, and America Reliable is definitely the company we plan to call. After this experience, we wouldnt want anyone else handling our next project. Highly recommended!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every project is quoted with a written, itemized fixed-price proposal — no hourly guesswork and no surprise line items later. Your in-home consultation and estimate are free, and the price we sign is the price you pay unless you request a change or we uncover a hidden condition, which is documented and priced in writing before any work continues. We follow California contract law on deposits and structure payments as milestone draws tied to completed work, so you are never paying far ahead of progress. Our minimum project size is $5,000 for remodeling and renovation work; roofing and stucco repairs are quoted individually. We work on residential homes only and do not take commercial projects. We are a licensed (CSLB #1155602), bonded and insured general building contractor, and that cost is built into our pricing — not shaved off it.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1) A short call to understand the scope, budget range and timeline. 2) An on-site consultation where we measure, review existing conditions and talk through what you actually want the space to do for your family. 3) A written scope and fixed-price proposal with allowances spelled out. 4) Design, engineering and permitting handled by us, with city submittals and approvals managed start to finish. 5) Construction with one dedicated project manager as your single point of contact, plus a written schedule and regular progress updates. 6) A final walkthrough and punch list, then handoff with warranty documentation. You always know who to call and what happens next.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our responsible managing officer, Douglas, has held a California contractor's license for roughly 35 years and has run projects across residential remodeling, additions and ground-up construction for that entire span. The company holds an active Class B General Building Contractor license (#1155602) — the classification California requires for whole-home remodels, additions and ADUs — and we carry full liability insurance and bonding. Our field leads and trade partners are licensed in their own specialties, and we stay current on California Title 24 energy requirements, seismic and structural code updates, and ADU regulations, which change often and are where a lot of projects go wrong.
