I have twenty years of experience as an editor. I've worked in house at several Bay Area publishing companies and know what publishers are looking for in a book project. I have studied the craft of writing and taken numerous editing classes. Since I am also a writer I am sensitive to the author's side of things as well as the editorial side. I have always been annoyed when something promised doesn't occur. Belinda passed my first very important test. She started and finished as she promised. I could tell that she thoroughly read my manuscript and paid attention to the plot. The basics, grammar, was well done and made my novel read more easily. Her suggestions, ninety per-cent of which I followed, were entirely appropriate and correct. What amazed me was Belinda's ability to remember some item in the book that occurred 40 pages earlier. For example, "didn't you say on page 11,....." when her note to me appeared on page 51. She promised to help pre and post editing, either in e-mail form or call and that was most appreciated. Overall, five stars.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prices will vary considerably depending on the type of editing, writing or service. A general idea is copy editing .02/word, ghostwriting $1300/10,000 words, administrative tasks such as filing copyright, sending queries, agent/publisher searches $30/hour, manuscript evaluation and developmental editing priced individually (subject matter, manuscript condition, length, all influence these prices).
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We discuss the project. I like to find out what the author is looking for in the way of editing. I review the manuscript, and provide them with a sample edit. When I've done the sample edit I give them an estimate and we go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Creative Writing. I have a certificate in publishing from UC Berkeley, which was awarded with distinction.
