Introduction: I have been doing massage and bodywork for over 20 years. I have practiced meditation (vippassana/mindfullness) for the same amount of time. From the very beginning of my journey into transformational and healing arts, I was told that I had a natural feel for the path, and a core ability to connect deeply with people and make them feel at ease and let go in my presence - physically, emotionally, empathically. It is a true calling for me and I am very passionate about my work. When I do bodywork with clients, I feel I am privy to an inner landscape of the soul where I just let my hands do all the weeding, pruning, uprooting and tidying! My specialty with massage and bodywork is really mixing up a lot of modalities, utilizing the best of all the skills I have learnt over the years to customize every session. Much love, presence and intent goes into what I do, and I would have to say that my work as an energy healer is but a natural part of the integrated experience I offer; rather than a separate modality. My transformational coaching and prescription yoga sessions are a natural evolution of my years of working with people one-on-one in a healing capacity. Through years of working this way and an instinctive ability to see the "bigger picture" for others- seeing them as their "best selves" I bring a lot of intuition into my sessions - and that is without doubt, the most invaluable component to my work. I love connecting with people one on one and never tire of seeing them leave our sessions feeling better than when they came to me.. I have learnt so much from my clients over the years, many of whom will just vent out their stresses to me. Inevitably, what someone needs to vent, I need to hear for my own journey. Likewise, if I am feeling something physically, there is a high likelyhood that I will be seeing clients with that same issue for the next while! I love that! (We are all each others' mirrors, right?) Such a beautiful symbiotic exchange and is one of my favourite aspects of what I do. A client will ask...how do you know? I answer, "oh, I know!" I also love to facilitate the release of pain, if I can...mental.emotional.physical. There's an old Welsh term "Sin eater" - someone who absorbs and removes the negative energy that others cast off. I often feel like a sin eater! Happily so.

Tanya's one of the few highly knowledgeable therapists around. This was extraordinarily refreshing as the muscle pain in my back required more of an experienced diagnosis to apply the appropriate treatment. I'm grateful for her help as there aren't many like her.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer clients from Thumbtack a 20% discount on all services for their first visit with me.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have enjoyed helping others all my life and people have always gravitated to me for comfort, healing, guidance, or just for me to hold space for them. No matter what I was involved in (even in my past career in creative production/entertainment industry) It often seemed that I was sought out as a grounding, healing influence, whether it be from others on set or the actors or muscians I would work with. I was naturally drawn to following the path of healer, transformational facilitator and so I left other avenues behind in order to choose that path forward. It has been 25 years since I made that decision! And it was the right one.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with a wide variety of clients, but instinctively feel drawn to a few different subgroups: those in chronic pain, those who internalize a lot of stress and those who are looking to connect to their wisest selves. Although I can give a wonderfully and simply relaxing massage, I have have welcomed complex issues in the demographic that I serve. My clients range from stroke victims, to fibromyalgia sufferers, to those with spinal fusions, severe scoliosis, to M.S. sufferers, to those with anxiety disorders and depression. With my transformational coaching (based on the principals of Yoga:(asana, pranayama, meditation) I particularly attract those who wish for transformation from the areas in their life where they feel most stuck. I have worked with the elderly the bed ridden, young teens, and film and music celebrities!
