Introduction: Each cooking class at Scuola Rustica in Sonoma is a light-hearted and relaxed event that includes a complete, lavish four or five-course dinner, with three or more vintage wines, while you learn new cooking skills. During class, Chef Michael Ghilarducci will demonstrate each new dish and discuss its origins and the techniques used to prepare it. A complete recipe book will also be provided with all the recipes. Dress comfortably, bring a pen or pencil, come hungry, and be ready to relax and have some fun! We do both demonstration and hands on classes. Hands-on classes are full-participation, although watching is fine too for those who just like to watch, eat, and drink! Tuition is $85 per class, per person. Most classes last about 3 hours. Watch the website for the latest class announcements. Chef Michael Ghilarducci teaches cooking classes on French, Spanish, and Italian cuisine. In the summertime, he also does outdoor classes on open-fire grill work and barbecue techniques. Since 2001, he has taken groups of cooking class students on food and wine tours to France and Italy. Beginning in 2006, Chef Ghilarducci has also taught cooking classes on Crystal Cruise Lines. In early 2008, Chef Michael Ghilarducci was joined at the restaurant by his son, Antonio Ghilarducci, as executive chef. Chef Antonio honed his skills at some of Northern California’s best restaurants including La Folie, The French Laundry, Redd, and El Dorado Kitchen.
