My daughter has been taking lessons from Anne for almost a year now. Anne is an excellent teacher, very patient and flexible. I would highly recommend her to the young and old! My daughter loves learning the harp and a big part of that love comes from a wonderful teacher.Oct 23, 2018Celtic Harp Lessons by Anne Roos's reply
Thank you so much for your kind review, Teah! I love teaching your daughter and I'm so proud of all her progress. I'm so glad she enjoys playing :-)
Anne Roos is a great teacher and fabulous instrumentalist. Learning to play an instrument is not just for children. I am Sixty-two and am living proof that one can learn to play the harp even though they have never read music or kept a beat. Anne is professional and cares deeply for her students. She gives them the power to succeed and knows how to help them improve. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn the harp regardless of their age.Oct 22, 2018Celtic Harp Lessons by Anne Roos's reply

Anne is a marvelous teacher! She is wonderful and PROMPT in her communication, follow up and lesson sessions. She genuinely exudes joy in her teaching methods, is clear in her instruction and seems to honestly love my kids. We couldn't be happier with our choice in instructors.Mar 19, 2017
Anne is a wonderful harp teacher. She is patient, supportive, and flexible (a must for a busy parent!). She teaches in a clear and enjoyable manner, and will help you reach your musical goals.Feb 26, 2017
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Anne Roos prefers to offer hourly lessons to older teenagers and adults, rather than half hour lessons, and then seeing students every other week. This allows more time for Anne to respond to questions, and it allows students more concentrated practice time. For children, and on request, Anne offers half-hour lessons taken every week--Less material is covered during the lesson, and the student's practice time is monitored more closely.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Anne takes the time to assess your musical experience and goals into consideration before you embark on your learning path. Lessons are always taught one-on-one so that you can learn at your own pace--Anne protects you from getting discouraged by comparing your abilities with others. Anne welcomes parents to be present during their child's lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Anne's formal music education is from UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles). Anne studied harp techniques from Sylvia Woods and contributed to her book "Music Theory & Arranging Techniques for Folk Harps". She was schooled in stage performance by Ed Hooks (San Francisco). Anne Roos taught for the Los Angeles Unified School District and continues to work in schools, performing at school assemblies for all ages. Anne began teaching private students in 1987 and is an active member of the American String Teacher's Association. Anne Roos is the GRAMMY® Award winning harpist on the 2015 Best New Age Album, "Winds of Samsara". She enjoys working on advanced and works with advanced performance and studio recording preparation with advanced harpists, too. Visit her web page for more info.
