Roger's Fine Art

Introduction: These lessons are for the aspiring artists and just plain people who wish to be able to put their impressions of the world around them onto canvas. Lesson objectives will be an introduction to various oil painting tecniques and then demonstrate how they are used to produce oil paintings. Lessons begin with simple subjects and then progress to more complex ones and introduce new techniques with each lesson. Each class is based on direct observation of the model with emphasis on developing a personal technique and style. There are discussions of line, form, color, paint application, texture, perspective, composition and art history. I earned a B.F.A. from the University of South Alabama and supplemented my training with several years of private study and studio apprenticeships along the east coast of the United States. My work is in many private collections.
