Join me in the world of swimming! I’m a lifelong swimmer, dedicated water polo player, and passionate swim instructor. Since 2017, I’ve been sharing my love for the water, combining technical skill with enthusiasm to help swimmers of all ages build confidence and capability. The past two years (23-25), I’ve served as an instructor and swim coach at the College of San Mateo, refining my teaching techniques and deepening my knowledge of the sport.
Swimming has shaped my life, teaching resilience and achievement, and I strive to pass that on through a supportive, engaging environment. With a nurturing approach and attention to detail, I tailor guidance to each swimmer, helping them overcome fear, build skill, and develop a lifelong love for the water.
I offer 1:1 and group lessons as long as the swimmers are close in age and skill.
Here is the range of my prices.
30min = $70
45min = $80
60min = $90 (I prorate anything more than an hour)

I’ve been struggling with a sinking leg issue in my swim technique for a long time, and no matter what I tried, nothing seemed to help. Carlos was the first instructor who really took the time to understand what was going on. He patiently broke things down, explained everything clearly, and made sure I felt supported every step of the way. Thanks to his guidance, I finally fixed a problem I thought I’d never overcome. He’s not only knowledgeable but also incredibly patient, understanding, and genuinely cares about helping his students improve. I can’t recommend him enough!

Carlos has been a great swim coach for my 5 and 7 year old. He has been patient, consistent and assertive with my boys. He is a laid back guy with very clear communication. He gives me some small homework with small goals after every session which helps a lot to keep me encouraged. My boys are learning how to swim quickly. They are having fun and they have confidence in their coach.
P.S. My boys dont know English that well and he is still getting across what he needs to get across.

We are very happy to have Carlos as the swim coach for my daughter and her friend. He was really good at working with kids. Both of the girls were able to put their heads in water and float on water in the first class, which we tried by ourselves for years but no success. They also learned doggy peddle very quickly in the next few classes and were starting the freestyle stroke now. Swimming is their favorite sports right now inspired by Carlos!

I stumbled upon my amazing swimming teacher through a Google search, and I could not be more thrilled with the progress I have made in just seven lessons. Before this fall, I did not know how to swim, but now I feel confident in the water on my own.
The first four lessons focused on the breaststroke style swimming, and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I picked it up. The teacher's clear demonstrations and patient guidance made learning to float, kick, breath, coordinate my legs and arms a breeze. The approach ensured that I grasped each element before moving on to the next, and I truly felt satisfied with my progress. I can now swim breaststroke without difficulties.
In the following lessons (five to seven), I delved into freestyle swimming. As an adult, learning to swim for the first time, it presented its challenges, but my teacher's expertise and encouragement made it possible. One of the standout qualities of my swimming teacher is the flexibility and responsiveness regarding scheduling. Planning lessons and fitting them into the busy schedule has been a breeze. The teacher's quick response time and willingness to accommodate my availability have made the learning experience even more stress-free.
