Introduction: as an engineer who not only understands technology, i build my own custom Digital mixing consoles and recorders. i was one of a team of three that made the first in the world multi-track album completely on hard disk in 1994 (Yes, Keys to Ascension). i come from the old school of audio engineers that believe in that the quality of the products we mix far outweighs the quantity of albums that get recorded. what i like most about my job is that it is never the same. each project is different with new goals to attain and new solutions to find. listening to music i have recorded or going to see a movie i have worked always gives me a great sense of accomplishment

look at your prospects experience, body of work and working style even if you are working with a "Great Producer" if their vision is not your vision, what you create will not be your art.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
it takes time to get great results. phase coherence, frequency and gain structuring is a skill that is developed over time and can only be learned on the job, it cannot be taught in a classroom.
