He is great. He actually can teach any vocal styles, such as opera, musicals, pop, etc. I still need to practice with him but so far, his lesson helps me sing better and sound better than before.Nov 11, 2017Verified
Richard is an awesome teacher! He is very knowledgeable about music and singing. I love that everytime he provides me positive and constructive feedback to make my voice grow. Since he gives a full 1hour lesson each time, I can spend a good amount of time to work for my voice with him, so it is clear to see my voice growing. He is very flexible about the shcedule. I am having a great time with him, and I am really happy that he is my teacher!Mar 16, 2016Verified
Richard has been a great teacher since I decided to take lessons with him.. Helps me with both my classical and rock styles Has a good feel for the types of music you like and would fit your voice best Knows proper technique/ fundamentals Good training exercises Very accommodating/flexible when I need to reschedule or change the time for certain weeks Comfortable singing 'studio' in his homeSep 15, 2015Verified
Singing is something I have always wanted to learn how to do but have never known how to go about it. I started working with Richard about 4 months ago and in this short time I have already seen amazing results. I came to him with absolutely no singing experience. I couldn't even match a note in my first few lessons with him. He has been able to get me to begin using my singing voice in such a short amount of time. I would recommend Richard to anyone I know looking to learn how to sing. He is a great teacher and someone who makes learning how to sing fun and exciting!Feb 28, 2015Verified
I'm a songwriter that wanted to learn how to sing my own music. I've attempted to sing off and on for many years, but never really felt confident in my abilities. In as few as four weeks Richard not only made me more confident, but he has also greatly improved my voice. The reaction of my band-mates at the first rehearsal after several voice lessons was proof enough! Richard is great and he is a pleasure to work with.Feb 25, 2015Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I do offer a special rate for any students signing up for 5-8 lessons at a time
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? After listening to their voice and identifying their specific needs and goals, I will focus on what they are looking to make happen, and collectively we will put together a plan to accomplish their goals utilizing a combination of vocal exercises, concepts, and music that will have them singing in a healthful way with control, confidence, and ease!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I grew up in a musical environment, my mother being a classical pianist, my brother and sister playing instruments and performing in bands. I have played piano since I was a child, violin since I was 14 years old and performed with the Junior Philharmonic Orchestra of California in numerous celebrity concerts. I have written Pop/R&B music. I studied music and sang in choirs and as a soloist, as well as performed in many Musical Theater productions throughout High School. I have been awarded Scholarships and awards for singing, and auditioned and was accepted to the Vocal Department at California Institute of the Arts for Opera and Classical Music with an emphasis in Musical Theater. While there I studied with world-renowned artists from all over the world In every aspect of music from solfeggio and ear training to being trained in various languages and coached on all styles of music. I demonstrate everything I ask my students to do vocally, and accompany students on the piano for scales and songs. I also can transpose music at sight into the student's key.
