About this pro
Apollo Energies offers independent energy audits for your home, apartments, or commercial office and retail space. Since we are independent energy consultants we can make unbiased assessment of your home so you know exactly what you really need to make your home more comfortable and efficient. We purposely do not get paid based on any of our recommendations you decide to do. This is the only way you can be assured of getting an honest assessment and with no financial conflicts. All contractors have a financial interest in having you do as many recommendations as they can convince you is needed. With Apollo Energies, you get all the information you need to make an informed decision. We get paid on the testing and inspections we do, e.g. audits, Title 24 inspection, HERS ratings, etc. Once you decide to move forward with some or all of our recommendations, we will run point on the upgrade process. We are not contractors. But he contractors we use have all been vetted and trained by PGE or your local utility company and then again by us. PGE or your local utility company makes sure they all have the proper licenses, insurance, does a background check, and then trains them in the building science needed to improve the efficiency of your home. We look for quality of work, integrity, and a commitment to helping you become as energy efficient as possible at the lowest cost possible. These contractors know they are reflection of us and we don't want someone in your home who is not trustworthy to be there. None of the contractor we use will try to up-sell you on anything. They are simply there to quote and install the energy efficiency measures we've recommended and you have agreed to install. No more and no less. Using our unique holistic approach to energy efficiency you can expect to see a reduction in your energy bills by an average of 40%-50%. Paying for all this can feel daunting, whether it's for your home or office. But we have strategies that combines financing along with available incentives from the local utilities, and specific sections of the existing tax code in such a way that creates a 30%-35% discount on the cost of the upgrades. Call us today to find out how this can work for you! Afterwards when the customer is pleasantly surprised at the results after believing it all sounds too good to be true.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We want you to know that when you hire Apollo Energies, the fees we charge are designed to be fair and reasonable. We also know that, should you move forward and install any of our recommendations, the utility rebates will more than cover the cost of our fees. So you really will not be out anything. When you work with a contractor, he's sending an energy rater he employs and is paying hourly to assess your home. This rater has an financial incentive to find everything he can find that's wrong with the house. His job depends on it. He give your energy audit report to the sales rep who works off commission. When the sales rep comes out, he has a financial interest in up-selling you as much as he can. It'll result in him getting a bigger paycheck. And the contractor has a financial interest. He's going to be marking up his profits by 30%-45%. All of them have an financial interest in what you do. Other raters simply do the audit, send you the report, and say, "See ya!" Leaving you to figure out what the report means and what the next steps are. But not us. None of our fees come from the recommendations we make. All of our fees come from the assessments and testing we do. So whether you do all of the recommendations, none of the recommendations, or one or two of the recommendations, it makes no difference to us. As we see it, our job is to provide you with an unbiased assessment of your home and then provide you with all the information you need to feel confident you are truly making an informed decision. And we won't end it there. If you decide to move forward, we will stay engaged and help you through the entire process.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? When we assess your home we will spend about 3-4 hours at your home collecting a lot of data about your home, and running several tests. Using this information we will create a energy model of your home. Using this model we will make recommendations which will result in your home being more comfortable with clean indoor air quality. All this is rolled up into a report and emailed to you. When we send you the report we will want to schedule a follow-up review meeting. This is our Audit Review Meeting and is unique to Apollo Energies. No other energy auditing companies or contractor holds these meetings. We do it because most people have never seen an energy audit report and we know you will have questions. We want to insure you completely understand the report, the recommendations we made, why we made the recommendations we did, and why you should implement them. We will show you what the rebate will be, present financing options, and help you engage the right contractor. This way you have all the information you need to make an informed decision. We are not contractors, and will not be the company doing the installation of the recommendations you choose to do. But we know you need a contractor and we don't want to leave you hanging trying to figure out which contractor to choose. To qualify for the utility rebates you need to use a trained contractor approved by the local utility. The contractors we use have all been vetted and trained by PGE and then again by Apollo Energies. PGE just makes sure they all have the proper licenses and insurance, does a criminal background check, and then trains them in the building science needed to improve the efficiency of your home. Apollo Energies looks for quality of work, integrity, and a commitment to helping you become as energy efficient as possible at the lowest cost possible. None of the contractor we use will try to up-sell you on anything. They will simply quote the energy efficiency measures we've recommended and that you have agreed to install. No more and no less. And the contractor we use like this approach and have us do the energy audits for their customers because they know we are unbiased and their customers will get exactly what they need, an honest assessment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?PGE puts both contractors and energy consultants, like ourselves, through two days of rigorous training the science behind being energy efficient. As energy consultants we are also trained by Building Performance Institute (BPI) which is certified by the American National Standards Institute, Inc. (ANSI) . They train and certified Building Analysts. Apollo Energies employs two BPI Building Analysts. California requires HERS testing whenever the HVAC system is upgraded by a certified HERS Raters. Apollo Energies employs a HERS Rater. The Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for creating the national training and certification standards for HERS Raters and Home Energy Survey Professionals, both of which are recognized by federal government agencies such as the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. mortgage industry. In order to qualify for RESNET certification, home energy professionals must first complete the rigorous training required to meet the high standards of excellence demanded by RESNET and agree to abide by the RESNET Code of Conduct. Apollo Energies employs a RESNET HERS Rater.
