Hello! My name is James Blanchard. I received honors while earning my certification from Animal Behavior College in both dog training and dog grooming. I love all animals. I train dogs, groom, and pet sit in a pawsitive way and will treat your pet like my own! My upbeat and loving approach to handling your fur baby makes me stand out from the rest! I am very affordable, so you can afford multiple lessons; because dog training doesn't happen over night, it takes consistency over a period of time. It would be best to have multiple lessons each week until you and we feel your dog has learned all it needs to be a happy and well behaved member of your home! I love to help people become closer with their dogs. Communication is important, so I make sure you are sending clear signals to your dog and help you understand what your dog is doing and why. That way no one is confused.

I have 2 puppies. Pupricca was raised by a pack of dogs in a backyard. She is great with me and my wife, everyone else she will bark at non-stop for hours at a time. When someone new is around her focus is impossible to keep. My other puppy, Hibbert, is a sweetheart that just gets way too excited. In a single session James and his wife had a major impact. Pupricca's barking dropped dramatically and she learned to trust James more than anyone else I've seen try and play with her. Meanwhile Hibbert was learning a bunch of tricks we had introduced him to before but could not master. They are calm and professional. With a lot of little advice in addition to the techniques you need to reach your goals. They acheived a lot in one hour and taught me enough to help keep moving forward with my puppies training, until the next appointment.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer $10 discount for seniors, vets, and law enforcement. Just ask! My base price is $75/hour. The farther away you live it may be $5 or $10 more. Aggressive dogs are $10 more.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first priority is to make sure your pup knows you are the leader. I explain the "Leadership Exercises" that help reinforce this dynamic. I cover do's and don'ts of dog training. And I demonstrate how to train basic obedience commands with your pup. I also answer all of your questions, and follow up with an email summary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified dog trainer and pet grooming. Graduated with honors from Animal Behavior College. I also have many years of experience in pet sitting.
