- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I would say it was decided for me. The only time my life seems to make sense is when it involves drumming. We all have talents, I believe that. When you don't share your gift I don't see how you can be fulfilled.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Find someone that is knowledgeable with your goals and a good instructor. Being a great player doesn't necessarily make you a great teacher. I asked Efrain Toro what he just played during a class session at PIT one class. He smiled and replied "I don't know, I was just playing." The point was obviously to just play and not think about what you play. He's an amazing percussionist - but in a class room setting i didn't find that to be very helpful.
