The Relevé Dance Group

Founder JD has worked in LA as a professional dance instructor since 2008. Trained in the four major dance syllabi (Arthur Murray, Fred Astaire, Dance With Me, and Dance Vision) JD is a versatile instructor whose greatest strength is his ability alter his teaching style to teach to a wide variety of students from the perspective they need for their unique learning styles and goals. Whether you are looking to learn Salsa, Swing, Argentine, Ballroom, or some other dance style, you will be well prepared working with him and his team of teachers in the Relevé Dance Group. Two left feet? Not even remotely a problem. As long as it is an even number, we've got you covered. Seriously though, JD and his team have even worked with students with a variety of different handicaps: blind, deaf, wheelchair-bound, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and one student who literally had half of a brain because the other half had been removed in a life-saving cancer surgery. So no matter what your physical limitations are, we can and will work with you. No rhythm? That is actually one of his favorite challenges. Contrary to what your middle school band/choir teacher may have told you, it is not true that some people have rhythm and others don't. Rhythm is not something you can fail to have. It is not like being color-blind or tone-deaf. You simply need someone to help you identify what you should listen for. If you enjoy music, you will have no problems. JD will teach you the simple three questions that reveal what dance goes with which song, and before long, you will be able to start dancing to songs from your own music collections that you didn't realize you could have been dancing to all along. We take great pride in our ability to tailor our teaching methods to fit student's needs so that they learn as quickly and enjoyably as possible. Our teachers constantly educate themselves, combining information from top dance coaches with information gleaned from the worlds of music, physiology, psychology, neurology, visual art, health, and education among others.
