- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Price points vary per project depending on wall size, texture, location, and design. All of these considerations are calculated into the final agreed upon price point, which includes all associated material fees as well. If you are unsure of your vision or if we need additional clarity, there will be a $200 initial fee that will cover the time that I will take in order to create a digital mockup of our conception. This fee will be deducted from the overall price once we decide to move forward with our idea. A deposit of 50% of the overall price will be required in order to hold your chosen date and to cover the initial cost of supplies. Once the job has been completed you will have 30 days from the final date of completion in order to pay the remaining 50%.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon our initial consultation, we will discuss your vision and the parameters of the project. If you are unsure of your design or subject matter, we will work together in order to create a clear visual direction, at which point I will provide you with a digital mockup of our idea. This mockup will be sent in a PDF format and it will be a very close representation of our vision and will depict this vision within your space. Once our layout is solidified I will provide you with a time line, a cost analysis/invoice, a contract, and we will set the dates for the project! After the deposit has been received, it may be necessary for me to view your space prior to the initial start date in order to ensure that there will not be any unforeseen complications when we begin the project. Overall, I find this process to be really exciting and fun and I will bring this energy into our interactions while we move through these logistical steps!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For the past 7 years I have been a professional fine art painter where I have had the great opportunity to hone my skills and travel the country and world sharing my art at various events while live painting. This has allowed me to work in many different settings, with many different people, and has given me adaptability as an artist. I studied the history of art at UC Berkeley where I earned high honors in my BA. With regard to my personal passion for murals and public art, I view murals as communal projects that should work to inspire individuals while serving as teaching moments. My vision is often laced with symbolic and empowering facets that have depth beyond superficial beauty.
