My experience is with CABS overallUpdated below...I had my annual checkup on 5/18/26 and at that time was informed my system wasn't working, I needed to replace a board in it, as an electrical surge had fried the board. I purchased a BOSCH HVAC system, for $25,000+ on 5/9/25, through CABS, and it already needs repair. The board is under warranty and maybe that's why I am not getting the level of service that I expected, so far 19 days without my AC and no idea when it will be fixed, we all know it's heating up in Sacramento. I am being told I need to install a surge protector for the AC and Heating unit, an additional $1113+. My question is if this equipment is so sensitive why wasn't the surge protectors installed at installation? I am stuck using CABS because I purchased the extended service coverage and will have to use their service for 10 years. I haven't heard from them since I called them on 5/29 and am still waiting to hear back about when I can expect my, one year-old air-conditioning system, to be running again. They provided me with the use of a portable air-conditioning system, but it requires it to be cool outside to use it, I live alone and will not leave my windows open at night. I shouldn't have to call CABS to find out what's going on, you think they would care about their customers and follow-up with me.UPDATE: CABS went through a lot to get a replacement part for me. The manufacturer was saying they couldn't get CABS the replacement board until July 1st, thinking outside of the box, to make it happen quicker, CABS purchased an entire new system and took the board out of it and put it in my system, saving me three weeks of no air-conditioning. They also took care of installing surge protectors, so I won't have this problem in the future. Giving me faith that CABS does care about its customers; just in time for the Sacramento heat.Christopher Emmert who came out to install the new board and surge protectors was fabulous. He did it all in 102 degrees and never complained, he was just making sure the job was done quickly and correctly. He is a very valuable addition to the CABS team; knowable, professional, and very customer focused.

Mary, we sincerely apologize for the delay in repairing your HVAC system and for the lack of communication regarding the status of your warranty claim. We understand your frustration, especially given the age of the system and the current weather conditions. We are continuously expediting the part on your behalf and I thank you so much for speaking with me about this matter. -Nika

If I could give Sean a 10, I would! Prompt, professional, personableand he knows his stuff. Sean described everything he did, replaced a part, found and fixed a safety hazard,- all without trying to sell anything. He made suggestions that saved me several hundred dollars, as well. Best service!
CABS Heating & Air Conditioning's reply
Tamera, a 10 for Sean — we love to hear it! Prompt, professional, and refreshingly honest is exactly who he is. Finding and fixing that safety hazard, walking you through every step, and steering you toward options that saved you a few hundred dollars — all without a sales pitch — is the standard we have here at CABS. We'll make sure Sean hears this; it'll make his day. Thank you for trusting us with your home here in Sacramento! -CABS Management Team

Over the almost 10 years I have owned this house, I have had a few different AC companies come out for work and inspections. My emergency last minute appointment with CABS was hands down the most thorough inspection and best customer service I have ever had. Brigham L. - the tech who came out - showed me photos and videos of everything, talked me through everything, fixed the problem with the AC, explained why there was even a problem in the first place, charged me what I thought was a fair price, especially given the same day service. I would absolutely use CABS, and request Brigham again.
CABS Heating & Air Conditioning's reply
Ryan, thank you for such a thoughtful review — and for trusting us with a last-minute emergency call. After almost 10 years and a few other companies, hearing this was the most thorough inspection and best service you've ever had means the world to us. That's exactly the experience Brigham works for: showing you the photos and videos, walking you through the problem, explaining why it happened, and getting your AC fixed same-day at a fair price — no guesswork. We'll make sure he knows he earned a customer for life. Thanks for choosing CABS Heating & Air Conditioning — we're always here at (916) 375-1800!
