About
I’m no longer drawing live caricatures at parties or events, but I’m happily accepting studio commissions for one-of-a-kind gifts for the special people in your life.
With over 60 years of experience in caricaturing, including time at Disneyland where we were taught, “Don’t insult our guests,” I focus on kindness and warmth in every drawing. I highlight your best features and personality rather than exaggerating “flaws.”
I truly believe everyone is beautiful in their own way, and my goal is to reflect that in a fun, flattering caricature you’ll be proud to share.
If you’d like a thoughtful, personalized gift created in a calm studio setting, I’d be honored to work with you.

Karen was the caricature for our 20th wedding anniversary party June 29th. We had a change in venue a week before the event and she had no problem driving an additional 20 minutes to the new venue. She was a huge hit and I almost didn't get a drawing due to the long line!!! Thank you Karen for helping to make my event magical! Blessing to you and your business.

I hired Karen to do some caricatures as a surprise at my company's Year End party. Not only did she complete all 15 full face, in color, portraits - she did it in a very short time frame and from only pictures! She really nailed the flavor of our staff. Thank you Karen for helping me make this year's party a joyful one.

Karen is wonderful! She drew for my Halloween party this year, and everyone loved getting a caricature of themselves in costume! Very talented lady, she really captures the spirit of people in her drawings! Very professional, friendly, and overall great artist. I would certainly re-hire her, and recommend to friends.

Karen was wonderful at our company Christmas party. She was such a hit, we had to add extra time because everyone wanted to be sketched. Thanks, Karen, for making our event so special.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is $150/hr. for whatever BLACK AND WHITE style you want. I draw on either 8.5x11" or 11x17" paper and always put your drawing in a nice protective plastic sleeve.
COLOR is $175/hr.
I prefer not to draw with little bodies.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to communicate via ************************************** and we can work out all the details. Once I get all their information, *********************************************************************************. Once the contract is signed and the deposit received, it's a go! I try to show up about 1/2 hour early to set up and make sure all the details are set. Then I draw! I usually draw for 2 hours straight before I take a break.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA degree in Art from the University of California, Davis, and I've taken both PORTRAIT & CARICATURE classes in the past. The best thing I do is go to a caricature convention where we can draw uninhibited and get great tips from other artists. I also got my start working at DISNEYLAND, so that was a great boost.
