FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After we send a customer an initial quote, we would like to meet in person to discuss more details about styles, theme colors, flower preference, and other specific requests customers may have. Often our customers contact us at a distance so we are happy to communicate by email or phone also. Then, we send a contract with the final price. We ask for a 40% deposit and the remaining balance 1 month before your event day.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Advanced official flower designer’s qualification (Nippon Flower Designer’s Association, NFD) and Qualified Instructor of the Ohara school of Ikebana.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up watching my mother who was a Ikebana instructor teaching her students at home when I lived in Japan. It was very natural to pursuit this career for me. After 10 years of working at a couple of wonderful florists, I started my own floral business in the heart of the wine country in 2010.
