Introduction: Tried & True Tutoring is owned and operated by credentialed teachers and provides tutorial for the following all over the US: * SAT * ACT * Chemistry * Algebra * All subjects Tried & True Tutoring has developed a SAT and ACT program with proven results, which can be customized to suit the specific needs of each individual student. Tried & True Tutoring uses innovative recruitment strategies that incorporate assessments from teachers, parents and students, while utilizing 21st century video conferencing technology to ensure that we only hire the best tutors available. Tried & True was founded by California credentialed teachers with extensive tutoring experience. The owners have developed a rigorous training program for their tutors, so that each and every student gets the benefit of that experience. Our programs involve the use of summative (graded tests) and formative (on the spot) assessments, in order to provide a customized curriculum based on the student's knowledge gaps. We encourage our students with open-ended questions, while requiring them to utilize academic language in their responses, in order to solidify concepts, learning, and understanding.

My daughter who was a junior in high school used their service to prepare her for the SAT/ACT. Her scores improved tremendously. Her tutor was patient, knowledgeable and reliable. I would highly recommend them.

Nothing less that great. Tutor went to my sons dorm(very important) during a "stress storm". Common for first semester students and broke the cycle that was occuring. My son has an overall 3.2 average and is on track.

We used the team at Tried and True Tutoring a few years back to have our boy/girl twins tutoring for the ACT tests. Both did very well, had improved scores and are sophomores at UC Davis and Univ of Oregon! Thank you Marc and Jonathan!

This service provided me with an excellent Math tutor at last .s notice who worked well with my son who suffers with a learning disability. The tutors leave notes so you know how your child is doing. They're reliable.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I advise that the parent ask the company how the tutor is trained. Does a credentialed teaching professional train the tutor in proper teaching methodologies and pedagogies? How is the instruction customized to meet the unique needs of my students? I suggest going with a certified professional tutor rather than a "cheap" algebra tutor.
