Run by music producer and multi-instrumentalist, David Chamberlin, DBW Productions is a full service music production studio. Located on a private lot in Woodland Hills, CA. The studio features 4 rooms with 10 foot ceilings and a tuned control room. We specialize in singer/songwriters and can provide complete production services all in-house. We'll do anything from a simple demo to a full length CD and help guide you through the process every step of the way. With over 70 completed CD projects and 1000's of recordings to date we have the knowledge and experience to make your recording project a reality. We also feature mixing and mastering services.

As a songwriter who has recorded at DBW many times, I can honestly say that you will not find a better production service. I've used Dave MANY times for creating tracks, mixing, mastering and recording. He is multi-talented because he not only is a superb recording engineer, but he also is a musician himself. He's played guitar on some of my tracks and the most recent one he sang the lead vocal for me. He is quick and super easy to work with. When you want the job done right the first time, call DBW!

DBW Productions can definitely make steak out of hamburg. My first song recorded at DBW was professionally done and airplay ready. The station manager of our local Christian station WNPQ was so impressed with the production quality he put it into immediate rotation lasting up to one year. Great job Dave!

I have been working with Dave for at least 20 years now and have known him for over 25 years. I have recorded 4 CD's with him, and I am totally satisfied with every one of them. Dave is an exceptional musical talent, and so versatile that it makes recording with him super fun and easy! He is always up on the latest technology and truly cares about whatever project he is working on, giving his full attention to detail and even explaining what he does technically, which is great for a non techy person like myself. FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My base price is $75/hour for the studio. Rates will decrease to $70/hour if we book 3 hours or more. Assuming I'm "producing" and creating the instrumentation (guitar, keyboards, drums, etc) I charge an al a carte fee of $160/song for everything. This fee is only charged once per song, even if I'm still adding instruments on another day. When you book a studio you typically hire outside musicians. Most studio musicians get $100/hour. I'm basically your "on call" studio musician that is all set up ready to go for one flat rate!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to know what kind of recording project you have in mind prior to booking a session just to make sure I'm the right guy for the job. That means having a phone conversation or personal meeting prior to the session. I'll be happy to go over any questions or concerns you might have as well as help give you a realistic estimate on costs. Every project I do is different. Some things are just a simple voice over recording and others are a full length CD. Once we establish what it is you'd like to do we go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've studied music since the age of 5, starting on guitar, then piano and Clarinet. I was first chair Clarinet in our high school band at the age of 14 as well as worked in an active bar band playing guitar. I played in a Florida with the rock band "Dorian Gray" who featured then drummer Jani Lane (who later became the singer for the multi-platinum band Warrant). I studied music at Musician's Institute in Hollywood, CA. After school I worked as a full time guitar teacher for many years while starting learn how to record and produce music. I've now been recording full time since 1995. I play many instruments which include:Guitar, Piano, 5 string bass, mandolin, Dobro and lap Steel, harmonica, Clarinet, Alto Sax, Lead and Backing Vocals, and, various hand percussion instruments.
