My 11 year old son had his first voice lesson practice and we were very impressed. She was very friendly and worked with my son. She was patient with him. He enjoyed it so much we will be doing weekly lessons.

I requested singinglessons and received 6 quotes rangers big from $36/hr to $100/hr. I eliminated 3 of them just based on the message they wrote to me and their reviews or lack there of. My passion is indie rock and Jan does not fit the profile of a rocker and she was vocally trained as an opera singer. However, her reviews were positive, she was priced in the middle, her message to me was pertinent and once I called and spoke to her I was sold. I didn't bother contacting the other two quotes I was interested in. Needless to say, my hunch was right and I had my first lesson last week. It went incredibly well. She amazed me. I am a song writer wanting to improve my vocals so I can work indecent from hiring a singer. I showed he some of my recorded originals and within seconds she knew what I had to improve to make my voice fit the song better. We changed the key a whole step, she had me pronounce some of the words differently and she gave input in to what could improve for the song instrumentally. She started showing me current artists and what I could take from their particular songs to inspire some rhythmic changes. she had suggestions on where to go and present my music to sale for commercial/tv/advertising. She had big picture advice on where to focus my energies. I couldn't believe what we packed in to a one hour rehearsal. She sat at her piano and taught me vocal exercises and explained to me how I could improve on them with what I call tricks to break certain bad habits I have formed. I can't wait to see her next week. She can totally rock!!!

We have a discussion about what the customer is dreaming of and their goals. We make a short range plan to start working together and then continue to alter the plan as we go thru.
