Our engagement photography session with Rich Taylor exceeded our expectations. From the first point of contact Rich was accommodating and offered many recommendations, which made the planning process effortless. Considering we have not been in the area long, Rich helped us choose a location for the pictures, which ended up being beautiful and exactly what we were looking for. He was enthusiastic about us bringing our dog to be in the photos, which made our day, and also offered advice concerning outfits, props, and day of weather. Rich arrived to our session promptly and ready to go. From the very start, he made us feel extremely comfortable and made sure we were embracing our true personalities in the pictures. Rich truly has an artful eye, and found beauty all around the park, even in places we least expected. We weren't just taking pictures, but we had fun! Rich is patient, easy-going, and did not rush our session at all. Our engagement photos were ready for viewing very soon after the session, which made the whole experience that much better! We did not have to wait around to see the photos, in fact, we were able to see a few teasers the very same day! Each and every photo is beautiful, creative, and captures our true emotions. Rich has maintained an open line of communication throughout the entire process, so even if there is a problem or concern (which there hasn't been!), he has made it clear that he is more than willing to listen, help, and fix anything necessary. We will absolutely be using Rich Taylor for additional services in the future. Absolutely a 5-star experience!!

Rich was awesome! We got married at the Mecklenburg County courthouse on a Friday and we wanted photos to preserve the memories. Unfortunately, it was supposed to rain all day on Friday. Rich called me on Thursday saying we could either go ahead as planned on Friday and try to find an indoor location if we get rained out, or he would reschedule us to anytime on Saturday at no charge. We decided to do that and got our pictures at Freedom Park instead - best decision! Rich shoots quite a bit at Freedom Park so he was familiar with the area and had lots of great ideas for spots and positioning. Rich was very easy to work with and made us feel as comfortable as possible being photographed. His rate was more than fair for the work he did - the photos turned out great. He got them back to us the Monday immediately after our shoot. Thanks again, Rich. We had so much fun and would hire you again in a heartbeat!

I hired Rich to do a family shoot over a holiday weekend. Rich was happy to help, and it was an easy process making arrangements. My father had just been diagnosed with metastatic cancer, and we were planning a big weekend with all the family to be with Dad. It was kind of a bitter sweet time...perhaps our last big family picture. Rich was sensitive to the situation and was great with both my 80+ year old parents and our kids 7 yrs through college age. He got some great pictures of all 12 of us as well as some sweet pictures of Mom and Dad and candids of the kids. I was impressed with how Rich used the outdoor lighting and his suggestions for background. He fully worked with us to get what we wanted, helping out with professional suggestions as needed. The pictures Rich got far exceeded out expectations. My whole family is thrilled. It is a day we will never forget... and now we have it documented with awesome pictures. We can't thank Rich enough. He is professional, courteous, easy to work with and will always get back to you. His photography is outstanding. Yes...you should hire Rich!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing depends on the session details. Please call with any questions you may have.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am strong with communication. Once we agree on a budget, place and time I stay in touch with the client before the session. This includes recommendation of attire and discussion of weather (if it is an outdoor session). I call the day before to confirm and discuss any last minute details. During the session, I am able to make the person comfortable pretty fast as I create a fun atmosphere and encourage playfulness. I believe my portfolio shows that.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took private lessons from an established professional photographer. She said I learned in 3 months what normally takes an average person 2 years. I believe having over 30 years of graphic design and printing experience, I already had the fundamentals established.
