- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I base my prices on an individual basis. There is a standard form charge for tax preparation. Each form carries a minimum charge. From there, I increase or decrease the charges based on the complexity of the return or lack thereof.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
To maintain my numerous certifications, I must take a minimum of 42 credit hours of continuing education each year. Sometimes it seems that's all I'm doing in the 'off-season'.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into this field because I liked working with the law and with numbers. I had originally contemplated a career in law but didn't have to resources to continue my education at that time. So, I did the next best thing...tax accounting deals with the law and, of course, with numbers. But it's mostly about the people (clients).
