My 10 month old puppy was attacked while we were out on a walk in March 2017. At the time, I was waiting until he turned 1 year old to start training with an organization so he could one day be my Service Dog. Due to the attack and the mental damage it caused, the organization was no longer a good choice, so a friend recommended Rocky Mountain Canine Academy. I attended a class in May 2017 and it was exactly what I was looking for. Since June 2017 we have been training once a week, almost every week, but due to scheduling and my puppy’s mental state, we started with one-on-one training where the trainer and I would meet at different locations to get my puppy used to being in different “work” environments (for example: stores, skate parks, gyms, etc). The trainer is affordable, personable, flexible, and really knows how to work with dogs with different behavioral issues and their owners. As his owner, I needed retraining after the attack and the trainer has been incredibly patient with me. The trainer bases and tweaks the training towards what you want to work on. For example, after working one-on-one for a few months, I felt that we would benefit from a group class as both my puppy and I was still very skittish around other dogs. I definitely recommend Rocky Mountain Canine Academy to everyone. My puppy is now 2 years old and is doing great! I have received so many compliments of my dog’s progress and I could not have done it without Rocky Mountain Canine Academy! Both my dog and I have come a long way and I intend to continue training with them for the foreseeable future.

The training I have been doing with Bill have been very good. He uses a step by step program and in very consistent in the training. We started with the very basics of sit and down and have built on it. Unlike other training where they teach one thing do it once and then move to another thing, Bill does a lot of repetition which I believe is very important for the puppy to remember. I have also seen the work he has done with another dog that is more advanced as to where I am and I see where I can take my puppies training to. I really enjoy working with Bill and would recommend him to anyone.

Bill is great with our German Shepard. Our family rescued her and is teaching us how to manage her and get rid of some of her bad habits. He is very knowledgeable about dogs and knows how to take command of our dog. We still need more training and Bill is coming weekly to help us. Thanks Bill.
