FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I still go to yoga classes and have my own qigong/meditation practice. I have never stopped taking bodywork courses and have even became a teacher's assistant at my school, which hones my skills even more. I have even become a lead teacher in a Shiatsu training program that I helped to build.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was tired of working in restaurants and wanted to do something more meaningful. People have always told me that I just have a relaxing presence so I thought I might do something where that would be an asset. I started researching yoga teacher training programs, grad schools, and massage schools, so I went to sit in on a class at a massage school. When I got there, I met eyes with the school director and sparks flew. She is such a powerful woman. I started school the very next day, in the fourth month of the program and caught up on all my work within the first month!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my private work has been in the massage realm, and every session comes with a little personal coaching to address your own unique patterns. And my other experience is in the classroom, leading larger groups in yoga, qigong, or teaching Shiatsu, massage, or meditation.
