Introduction: I am a professional pianist and music teacher originally from Ireland. I received my bachelor's and master's degrees from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and I have a doctorate degree from the University of Colorado Boulder College of Music. I have taught students of all ages and abilities for many years. I served as a Lead Graduate Teacher during my doctoral degree and was one of three students in the University to receive an Award for Outstanding Academic Leadership for my work. I have played in many famous venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Wigmore Hall in London, Abbey Road Studios, and the National Concert Hall in Ireland, among others. I have also won prizes in many national and international piano competitions. My students often participate in festivals, recitals, and competitions. As well as teaching services, I am available to perform for all kinds of music events, including weddings, receptions, professional events, funerals, parties, events that require background music, and others. Jonathan is friendly and very talented. He arrived a little early (which was great), played everything that was asked with style and emotion, improvised and improved some of the arrangements. During singalong portions of the party he flexibly worked with me on timing, filling in with background and using eye contact and nods to slide into the beginning of each song. He happily stayed later than we agreed on just because the party continued long. I would definitely recommend him, and hope he's around and available next year, because I will hire him again. :)

Jonathan has been a talented and patient piano teacher to our 6 and 10 year-old children. He covers a variety of skills in each lesson and motivates students by offering them opportunities to help select the pieces they study and practice composition. He also gives helpful and clear instructions for practice between lessons. We recommend him highly.
