This source was NOT properly vetted by you...he was not a receiver "repair pro" what so ever. He arrived one hour and a half after his arrival window and proceeded to tell me it was a speaker wiring problem...he had not even looked at the issue. He fussed around with the wires and connected them to my "broken receiver" again and then realized the "RECEIVER" was the issue as had been described by me to you and to him via emails. He then admitted he was not qualified to repair it...and then he said he had to charge me $75.00 FOR NOTHING. THIS IS YOUR PRO SOURCE??? What is your policy for this crap.....I expect my $75.00 back in cash...I should not be stiffed like this~~! Robert T Spencer

We always strive to provide a positive repair/troubleshooting experience and understand that cannot happen every instance. We definitely don't want you to feel "stiffed," that is not our goal at Arothorne Installations LLC. Please allow me to expand upon the service we have provided. For $75, we provide an audio/video/cabling professional with over 20 years experience in the field to travel to the location in question, diagnose the issue, and offer multiple solutions appropriate for the situation. If issue can be resolved within the initial hour, we charge nothing more. In this situation, our technician researched your specific unit and known issues for it prior to the appointment. His initial diagnosis was based off of that research and confirmed within the user's manual. We always take into consideration the diagnoses of our customers, however there exists basic technical troubleshooting steps that every visit requires to definitively diagnose the exact issue, which is why he took the time to examine your peripheral speaker wiring and connections. It is within the technician's educated opinion that the improperly crimped wiring had, at least in part, contributed to the overall system failure. As he is not a certified Denon repair specialist, he referred you to a local, highly rated company that is certified to perform the repair needed and maintain a warranty on the device. Warrantees are typically voided if the appliance is opened by anyone not certified and supplied with new warranty stickers from the manufacturer. Our standard rates when the initial hour has been exceeded involves waiving the initial estimate/diagnostics fee and charge a two hour minimum of $130 and $65 per hour thereafter. Our technician was on site for approximately 1.5 hours, which should have totaled the two hour minimum of $130, however he discounted the visit due to referral to an outside source for final resolution.
