FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a 4th generation general contractor.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We build custom homes, construct metal or wood frame shops and garages, pole barns, commercial buildings. We also do excavation for foundations and utilities, custom build cabinets, paint and basically do anything our customers tell us to. We are a complete turnkey business that does everything from the ground up.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Everyone looks at price, but that isn't the only thing to consider. Consider how well your personalities mesh, because you will be working with each other. Some people don't realize that you don't hire an hourly contractor to build your home, you are hiring a service that will complete your entire home from start to finish. You have to be able to communicate with each other and make decisions that will keep them on budget as well as on price. Contractors that flat bid a project are the best ones to use, as far as I feel. When you have a list of items that are budgets, that you have already shopped and picked out, then you know going in, what you will be spending. Don't start changing things after you start, unless you realize that the price and time frame of your job will suffer.
