FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For one-on-one training live virtual training, the hourly rate is $65. For exercise programming, the cost is $25/program. *(I have also had some clients do a hybrid of the above two options.)* For couples live virtual training I bill each session as 1.5 hours, so the hourly rate would be $97.50.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My main focus for new clients is to establish a starting point based on his/her previous experience and current ability level. I see myself as equal parts trainer and educator and so usually going back to basics regarding form is key! Once we've established a good starting point, I typically program by month and choose different aspects to focus on including, but not limited to: volume, power, cardio-respiratory endurance, athletic-style training, functional movement, etc. The main focus points are mostly based on what the client is wanting to work on specifically as well as what I as the trainer think is important based on movement/strength evaluations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my master's degree in clinical exercise physiology and also have the ACSM Health Fitness Specialist certification as well as a certification to work with adaptive populations (those with spinal cord injuries, neuro disorders, etc). I have worked as a personal trainer for the able-bodied population including weight loss, athlete training, etc for about 5 years and also worked as an adaptive exercise specialist for about a year and a half at an adaptive recovery center. I also worked as a swim coach for 2 years.
