Introduction: Hi! I am Michele Eaton, Ph.D. (ABD), founder of Illumine Education Resources. passionate about teaching and mentoring students who are reaching for their dreams by learning. I used to be an underperforming student whose life was transformed by mentors who taught me not only the value of education but the possibilities inherent in my own natural learning ability. I am now just a year away from achieving a PhD in Educational Leadership. My vision for Illumine is to pass along this gift of learning. It’s that simple. My approach to teaching is also simple, but unique in that I do not consider “passing” a given subject or course the end goal. I consider this a temporary fix at best—and with other tutors, one for which you may find yourself paying too much and gaining too little. Instead, I have three clear goals designed to inspire in my students a deeper confidence in their own natural academic abilities. These goals—intended to be met at each student’s age, school and experience level—are to help each student to: 1. Locate, organize, and process subject information to achieve and communicate genuine understanding. 2. Develop effective independent study habits. 3. Appreciate the value of knowledge, information accuracy, and education itself. I understand the emotional ups and downs of learning. I know some of the most effective ins and outs of how to study, how to organize you or your child’s “learning self” for clearer thinking, and how to turn negative education experiences into learning opportunities. I use this education along with my professional experience to provide targeted curriculum and personal academic guidance and mentorship to students from kindergarten to 12th grade in most subjects. I also coach under-graduate and graduate college students, adults seeking ongoing education, business professionals and creative writers. Where do you most need help?
