About

We concentrate on early learning for puppies. 8-20 weeks is the critical time for puppies to learn how to learn. We do not teach a sequence of obedience tricks. Rather, we teach the puppy to focus on and engage with the handler, teaching everything else after that is easy. Without focus and engagement all you have is "tricks" not training. We genuinely love dogs. Diann has worked with all types of animals since she was a child and has followed her passion for educating people about animals all through her life. John has trained professional athletes, but they complain too much, training dogs is much more rewarding.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Private sessions are $125/session. Packages are $395 for 5 puppy sessions or 4 dog (over 6 months) sessions.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Older dogs we require a one session evaluation consultation to observe the dogs behavior and training, the handlers ability and goals. We then recommend a training program. Puppies, who are a blank slate, we begin with the first of 5 sessions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Diann has a BS in Wildlife Zoology and has worked at the ASPCA in New York, Bronx Zoo, DDFL in Denver, Longmont Humane Society, Raptor Education Foundation in Colorado. She has competed in AKC obedience, Schutzhund/IPO and Mondioring Sport. She is a professional member of IACP, vice president of Black Diamond Working Dog Club, AKC Good Citizen Evaluator. John has competed in AKC obedience, Schutzhund/IPO, Mondioring Sport, is president of Black Diamond Working Dog Club, volunteered with the Longmont Humane Society helping evaluate dogs for adoption, professional member of IACP Since 1997 John and Diann have helped over 2000 dogs and their handlers learn together.
