We were late to hire a tutor for our daughter taking 10th grade geometry. We found Sandy in the final weeks of the Fall semester and she turned things around quickly! Prior to the first tutoring session, Sandy asked for the syllabus and the teacher’s materials. She came to the first session having reviewed and prepared with the goal of tailoring her first instruction. Our daughter ended so much better at the end of the semester — D to a B! We are now in the Spring semester and we book Sandy every weekend between one hour and 90 minutes. Our daughter has maintained an A all semester! We appreciate Sandy’s flexibility, preparedness, and accountability she holds our daughter to. If we could give Sandy 10 stars, we would!

My son has some challenges with mathematics, and especially with test anxiety. Sandy is a calm and reinforcing mentor and tutor, and she quickly created a trusting relationship with my son so that he could feel safe making mistakes. She creates an atmosphere where my son can come up to speed in the subjects that challenge him personally, and she is thoughtful in setting goals and a path for success. She is an excellent tutor.

I charge by the hour. I offer a discount if multiple sessions are scheduled in a week.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have a phone discussion regarding the needs of the student so that I can prepare for a session and make sure I have the right materials at our session. I also contact the student's teacher if necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught middle school, high school , and 2-yr college classes. I current work on math on-line quizzes that align to the common core standards for Curriculum Associates.
