FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is based on the specific scope of work, site conditions, and access, so we provide custom estimates after reviewing the project details and, when needed, visiting the site in person. Factors such as terrain, slope, soil conditions, rock, drainage requirements, and trucking distances can all affect cost. We believe in transparent, upfront pricing with no hidden fees. All estimates clearly outline what is included, along with any assumptions or exclusions. If unexpected conditions are discovered (such as significant rock or unforeseen access issues), we communicate immediately and provide change orders before proceeding. We are not always the cheapest option, but we focus on doing the work correctly the first time using proper equipment, materials, and methods. This approach saves our clients money long-term by avoiding shortcuts and costly repairs. We occasionally offer seasonal scheduling flexibility or bundle pricing for larger or multi-phase projects.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with an initial conversation to understand the customer’s goals, timeline, and budget, along with any photos, plans, or site details they can provide. For most projects, we then schedule a site visit to evaluate access, existing conditions, and any potential constraints. After the site visit, we prepare a detailed written estimate outlining the scope of work, assumptions, and pricing. We’re happy to walk through the proposal and answer any questions before moving forward. Once approved, we coordinate scheduling, utility locates (811), and any required permitting or engineering support. During the project, we maintain clear communication, provide progress updates, and address any changes through written change orders. Our goal is to make the process as straightforward and stress-free as possible, from the first call through project completion.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years of hands-on experience in construction, excavation, grading, and hardscaping, including working in both residential and commercial environments. My background comes from growing up in a construction family and spending my career in the field managing and performing complex site work projects. In addition to field experience, I’ve completed extensive on-the-job training with heavy equipment, site development, drainage systems, and foundation preparation. I regularly stay current with industry best practices, safety standards, and local building requirements. I also work closely with licensed engineers, surveyors, and inspectors on projects that require permitting, grading plans, or structural coordination, which ensures all work meets professional and regulatory standards. This combination of real-world experience and ongoing professional development allows me to deliver high-quality, technically sound work on every project.
