FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge by the square foot and level of detail for murals, so pricing can vary. I can be somewhat flexible in pricing, depending on the project. I do have a price sheet, which covers low-medium-high detail murals. All supplies are included in the price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we’ll set up a meeting in your home or a phone conference. If you’re out of the area, you can send pictures. If you have something in mind, Great! If not I’ll come up with some ideas after we talk. We’ll take measurements and we decide whether it would be better to paint on the wall or canvas. If canvas, it can be installed after it's finished. A $250 deposit is due before I start the sketch. This is taken off the end balance. Now I draw your customized sketch, done to scale for your mural. This is the time to make changes, if needed. Next, I paint your miniature mural to scale, so you can see what the finished painting will look like. At this stage, any color changes you might like will be discussed. I get a signed approval for the miniature painting before starting.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied painting and drawing for years. I have also made several trips to England to study trompe l' oeil mural painting. I have also taught life drawing. I am continually reading up on painting and trying out different methods.
