FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
This type of reading tutoring is actually changing your brain patterns. The more often you practice the better and faster you will learn. That is why I require that you come more often than 1 time/week and I make it more affordable to come even more often. Each lesson is 1:1 for 1 hour. * If you choose to come 2 time/week it is $65/hr. *If you choose to come 3 times/week it will be $60/hr. *If you choose to come 4 or 5 times/week it will be $55/hr. Coming to reading therapy more often is actually going to save you money and time in the long run. Your child will advance much faster and easier when you attend reading therapy often. They will not forget what is learned in-between sessions and will need less review. They will not revert back to old habits when not in therapy as readily and so the things they learn will become automatic and they will become independent much quicker.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start out with a free assessment on the first time that I meet with a student. That way I know where we are starting and be able to gage our progress. After the free assessment I will visit with the parents and then they can decide if they do want to move forward with regular tutoring.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master of Arts in Teaching. I received this degree from the only program in the state of Colorado that is endorsed by the International Dyslexia Association. I could have gone a less expensive route but I wanted this degree because I knew that it would teach me how to teach reading to a person with dyslexia. I am also a member of the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA).
