FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing varies based on aquarium size, location (nearest major crossroads), and frequency of service. For routine maintenance (every 2-4 weeks), I typically offer a lower set rate, which includes algae scrubbing, gravel/ substrate vacuuming, water changes, and routine filter maintenance. Items such as carbon, filter pads, and saltwater are either built into the routine fee, or charged on an add-on bases. For periodic cleanings, which are often more involved and more time consuming, I charge a $75 site visit fee which includes the first hour, then $50/hour pro-rated for anything beyond an hour. Other supplies such as saltwater are considered add-on's, and will be added to the total bill
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically the best option for a potential new customer is to come for an onsite consultation, at which time I can go over the options for routine and/or periodic maintenance.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was the aquarium Service Manager for an aquarium shop in Phoenix, AZ, and also worked at Neptunes Tropical Fish here in Denver.
