Sara Reyes is a pianist, composer, and violist located in Lone Tree, Colorado. She has music and psychology degrees from Colorado Christian University and has been teaching piano, violin, and viola since 2019. She has played with various ensembles and community orchestras in the area and spent several years working with a local Youth Symphony. Sara is passionate about teaching young students and loves watching them grow and learn, experiencing their own joy from achievement after putting in the effort. Music has the power to improve memory, cognition, mental health, and overall emotional well-being and she is grateful to be a part of her students’ overall growth and creative development. Sara also loves to improvise and compose, introducing these concepts to students early on so they can develop the skill and confidence to experiment with their own musical voice. My children have been taking lessons from Sara for a couple of years. They have such a good time with her and she is a very patient teacher. I can see my kids' growth over time and I love that they really enjoy the music that they play. Sara also does a great job keeping their interest up with contests and games to make learning about music outside of lessons engaging. Sara has been wonderful to work with. She is great about working with schedule changes, encourages consistent practice, and does a great job adapting to teach to each child.

Sara has been providing my child piano lessons for over a year. We have seen amazing progress in this time as she learns to read music and play more complex music. Sara is great at providing fun incentives to encourage music literacy and keep my child engaged. Sara understands how to meet my child where she is and institutes different teaching methods as needed. She understands not all people learn the same way and changes her style to meet the learners needs. Attached is a picture from a Christmas Piano Recital in which Sara wrote music for each child (within the same experience level) so they could all play a song together.
