Thomas Cahoon Designs has existed in one form or another since 2013 when Thomas began working independently to pursue an interest and passion in wood working, alongside his day job as a metal fabricator and welder. Since then his interest and skill in custom furniture, metalwork/welding and home improvements has only grown.
His process is predicated on custom design to fit each client, and is built on attention to detail in every step of manufacturing and building. Making functional, beautiful pieces to fit each client perfectly is the goal of every piece we make.

Thomas came to our house to get our input on the railing project we wanted done on our deck and inside stairs, the results were amazing! Would highly recommend him for his excellent work!
Now I hand rails on my front steps. With Tom's help we have them in the best location to use. He was quick and efficient in getting them installed. I thank him.

My bread and butter is building stand-alone furniture. This is best seen in the tables, benches, media centers and shelving units I have built. My background in custom metal fabrication has also allowed me build and install some very unique and beautiful custom railings, gates and staircases as well.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was fortunate to do the build out on a couple of new restaurant/coffee shops in Denver, CO in the last year, where I was able to build the seating and bar areas from steel and wood. The high traffic of these venues is an especially rewarding aspect of building in commercial settings, as many people are able to see my work.
