Jason did a great job walking me through the project and pointed out a couple other things I hadn't bought of that should be done at the same time. That said, the work suggested was just a more complete scope, not an upsell. TV and Sonos mounted perfectly, home network now totally functional and working great. I will absolutely us Next Step Communications for the next project for my theater room. Thanks for the professionalism, knowledge, and attention to detail.

I was honestly blown away with Next-Step start to finish. Since I'm aiming this at their potential customers and not them, here's what you need to know: I hired them to do network cabling, a network rack and switch installation, access point installation and configuration, and security camera/dvr installation and configuration. Jason came out and did the initial walk through and consultation for free (which if anyone is charging you for that, move on) and was the only contractor I talked to (of four total) that actually laid out his plan for running cables throughout my finished home. He had a plan A and a plan B (we ended up needing B so I'm glad he had thought about it) and when they left the house looked cosmetically untouched save for a hole in the drywall in my garage. The cameras were mounted well and the best part of the job was the setup that Next Step did configuring the switch for the network and the camera system. Even though we did a little walk through once they were done showing me how to log into everything, they sent a follow up email and gave me all the information i'll ever need to take care of the system on my own. And that's all great, but it's what I paid for. The best part of this company is how they handled their biggest mistake. About halfway through the first day, I lost power on one side of my living room. When it didn't come back on after about an hour I let one of the guys working know and he immediately stopped waht he was doing and got Jason and they began to troubleshoot. When it became apparent there was some electrical problem, Jason wisely triaged the situation and said either he could call an electrician or I could call mine and he and his team would get back to work and circle back once an electrician found the problem. I got in touch with mine first, and he came out and spent several hours before learning that Next Step had accidentally clipped the very edge of a wire when they drilled for the camera by my front door. Before Jason left with my payment for the work, he helped the electrician get everything repaired and then he reimbursed me in full for the cost of the electrician without any question. Efficiency, integrity, and quality are rare to find together, but you'll find them here.

These guys ROCK! I was introduced to this firm through my security company, and I never will look back. They have changed my view of technology and taken what it can do for me and my business to new heights! I have now used them in over 10 of my business locations to do very high level camera work, have used them to set up my home office not only once, but a second time after I moved (which they helped with graciously,) I have sent them to numerous friends and family and will continue to do the same, just to mention a few of their excellent traits. The work they do is very clean and professional, literally as tight as it can be. Even in my older home, they made all the stereo equipment look like it should be there from the day the home was built, and the tv's float perfectly on the walls. Never is there even a speck of dirt left when they leave the job. I can't speak highly enough about their whole team, but Jason and Ryan really make my life much easier and much more technologically available to live in the now. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We first like to talk to the customer on the phone about their thoughts for the project. Then if the project is not cut and dry we like to visit the site to get a better idea of all our options for the install. Then we put together a written estimate for the equipment, materials and labor. Once the customer agrees upon the suggested products and pricing we get them scheduled and installed. All features and operating features of the system is shown to the customer and Any questions are answered we are always available for follow up questions after the installation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our techs have many years of infield training working with all types of equipment and customer needs.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with a wide range of customers from young and technical. To elderly and frustrated with technology. In both cases we find the right fit by listening to what their needs are and do out best to make it happen. In most cases people just want things to be simplified and operate smoothly.
