FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is not complicated, and though I will admit that hiring a quality Fitness Professional is a significant financial commitment, we often never give a second thought to spending comparable amounts of money on things that lack the kind of return improving the way you look, feel and perform can do. My prices are competitive within the market for a true professional who's entire livelihood is based upon the successes of the individuals that I work with. Often times within an industry like Personal Training, you truly do get what you pay for. Your health, fitness and happiness are worth it!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Continuing education is an absolute must in this industry. Fitness and athletics are constantly changing. For example, 30 years ago it was accepted that weight lifting was not needed or beneficial for basketball players. Today, we wouldn't dream of a basketball team that did not hit the weight room on a consistant basis. What's different is the type of training, both strength and endurance, that is most acceptable for certain types of athletes. Exercise form that used to be accepted as proper have been corrected time and time again as new information becomes available. You should never stop learning and neither should your trainer!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Developing an appreciation of fitness in my early 20's, I began to separate myself from the inactive and unhealthy lifestyle that I had lived for the entirety of my life. After joining my first gym and becoming increasingly more active, I turned my attention to diet and nutrition with the understanding that it would truly take a combination of both for true success. As I improved my body, I also improved not only the health of my fitness, but also of my mental and emotional well-being. I was convinced of my purpose in life to help others achieve the same quality of life and began taking courses in both Nutritional Consultation and Sports Psychology. Then, in 2003, I attended the National Personal Training Institute (N.P.T.I.) in Lisle, Illinois, and became Certified with a Diploma from the state. In 2010, I obtained another Certification form the National Health Educators (N.H.E.). In 2015, my attraction to the sport of obstacle course racing had me pursuing and obtaining my Spartan SGX obstacle course coaching certification. I am currently pursuing a certification in Hybrid Personal Training from Complete Human Performance (CHP).Today, I have trained over 1000 clients and currently average around 20 clients per week.
