Krys is simply the best. I started with a long and wide selection and decided to go with Krys for my son's senior photographs. What really impressed me with her was that she was patient with answering all my questions (over a dozen of them). She was very flexible and through my interaction with her, I realized that she did not focus on the time that she would spend with my son, but on the quality of the places and the final pictures. After asking me so many questions regarding my son's hobbies, she offered a few different venues. She even offered to travel, without me asking for that. I was impressed. After I hired her, I hadn't settled down on a place yet, and she volunteered to go and check a couple of places prior to the photo shoot. She also asked her colleagues regarding some of those places. Her final work? Breathtaking!!! I am so very grateful to Krys for turning this experience into a pleasant one. I now know where to turn when I need an awesome photographer. Krystal is very professional but extremely personable. She shot my daughter's senior pictures and I couldn't have been happier with the experience or the final photos. My daughter is quite shy and Krystal immediately put her at ease and soon they laughing together and having a great time. I also really appreciated her willingness for us to be actively involved during the shoot and very open any feedback or ideas that we had. She also has a very unique sense of artistry that shows so well in the photos.

Going in, I was nervous about this photo shoot for a couple of reasons; 1. Krystal is a close friend (which makes doing business much more complicated), 2. My most recent experience with a photographer was DREADFUL. I thought our precious newborn shoot was going well enough, but the pictures were just terrible (you couldn't see our baby- WHAT?!?), 3. This photo shoot really mattered- it was a family first and we had to travel, 4. No offense to the guy, but my husband does not usually make taking pictures very fun. He's just not into it. Bleh. 5. I have seen many pictures Krystal's done of other families and all of them are fantastic. I sort of wondered how she always managed to only work with clients who are photogenic. We were going to be that family that ruined her perfect record. I'll blink. My husband will force a smile. My kid will melt down. So, those were my concerns. And here is where the praise comes in: Krystal makes you photogenic. She does. She makes you feel immediately at ease, she coaches you into flattering positions, she has an artful eye, and she also listens to your oddball ideas (if you happen to have any). We (our whole family-husband and toddler included) had FUN. We had fun. Then Krystal sends us these beautiful photos and suddenly I forget that I have been wearing sweatpants, ignoring my hair, laughing off makeup and otherwise just feeling like a slouchy mom for the past year and I actually remember that I feel pretty sometimes. How lovely is that? So, if looking at Krystal's work is not proof enough for you, potential client, that she is brilliant, trust me on this- she is.

FAQs

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I worked 3 years in different photo labs all over Colorado and because of that I have a unique understanding of light and color and how that translates to print.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Editing is the majority of our job, not the actual shooting. Having a photographer that has worked in a photo lab is so beneficial to understand color and how things will look printed. Ultimately, most of us don't invest in beautiful portraits just to post them on Facebook, we want prints for our walls.
