We truly cannot say enough good things about Marylyn and her incredible team. Our wedding was beyond anything we could have imagined; every detail was so thoughtfully handled, and the entire day was absolutely lovely from start to finish. Marylyn and her team are true professionals and absolute experts in their craft. They took care of everything with such grace and ease, including some last-minute surprises. When unexpected rain rolled in, they managed it beautifully without missing a beat. I had forgotten to arrange for our cake to be decorated, and somehow, they made it happen at the last minute and it looked stunning! They even recommended a wonderful babysitter to look after the kids, which made a huge difference for us and our guests. She was so kind and attentive, and the kids were happy and well cared for the whole evening. From the food (which was delicious!) to the decor and flow of the event, everything was just perfect. Marylyn and her team are the whole package: professional, warm, prepared for anything, and genuinely dedicated to making your day unforgettable. It was worth every penny, and I can’t speak more highly of the experience. Thank you for making our day so special!

Marylyn’s infectious personality, experience, and uncompromising attention to detail calmed our “first-time event” nerves! We held a first-time corporate appreciation gala to honor our direct support staff who are the lifeblood of our community. The event was held on a Sunday evening (in our auditorium). With Marylyn’s talent and recommendations, the event space was transformed into an elegant five-star hall. Guests were in awe! She meticulously set up a computer-generated table diagram, worked with our dining management to rent proper equipment, consistently followed up open items we accepted responsibility to provide. Her recommendation for flowers and a DJ were top notch. I’ve never planned an event let alone an event for 200 guests (that I see daily!). The food was delicious and pleased a very diverse group of attendees. Looking forward to future events with Juste Hors D’Oeuvres and More.

We knew immediately once we booked Juste Hors D’Oeuvres to cater my daughter’s wedding that we had made the right decision. Marilyn was warm and genuine in all of our meetings and interactions before the big day. The day of the wedding was amazing with Marilyn and her staff who were delightful, all zipping around getting things set up. Professional from beginning to end and I can’t say enough about how friendly and accommodating each of them were! Now for the food! It was superb! Appetizers, entrees and desserts and beautiful wedding cake were top notch and I’m still getting compliments from our guests on how delicious everything was. I couldn’t be more pleased with Marilyn and how perfect her and her team executed everything. Service and all of the food and drinks were over the top. My experience with JHD was wonderful. I was organizing a graduation/send-off party for my MBA cohort and we had the event at a classmate's home. Marylyn was extremely prompt throughout the process and had great attention to detail, making sure that we were able to have all the right equipment and that it would be functional at both the primary location as well as at the backup rain location. Because this was a school event, there were certain restrictions on how the event needed to be run (e.g. we needed to have a licensed bartender, we had a certain budget within which to operate, etc.) and Marylyn was very accommodating with these requests. They staff at the event (chef, assistants, bartender) were charming in how they interacted with guests. There were a couple times when guests accidentally spilled or dropped something after having set it down on an uneven surface, and someone was always there within a minute with a replacement snack/beverage. The food itself was delicious; several people came up to me afterward and told me that the bacon-wrapped dates were heavenly and that they even broke their diets to have more! At the conclusion of the event everything was cleaned up and left just the way it was before. If I were to have another event I would certainly choose JHD again!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing should be customized to the clients' budget parameters. We are not an "off-the-shelf" catering company with prices for set packages. We feel that there are too many hidden costs in packages. Every proposal we make is broken down into the main components. This gives clients the ability to make financial decisions from a place of knowledge. Menus are developed in consultation with our clients. When we understand their wants and needs, we are empowered to work diligently to create a perfect and affordable event!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Personalized consultation is the key to a perfect event. By chatting with my prospects and asking some key questions, together we are able to hone in on the perfect mix of wants and needs and develop the right budget parameters. As catering pros, there are times we suggest options to our clients that they would not have thought of themselves often resulting in the saving of time and money! While we all love social media and e-mail, neither are the right way to plan a perfect event!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our Chefs, Bartenders and other Staff are highly experienced. I spent many years as a teacher then a VP in a Fortune 500 company. It is the combination of exemplary cooking and planning coupled with savvy business prowess that built this business into a thriving success. We are the pros ready to assist you at every turn!!!
