Jody is the first designer ever that I have worked with that made the experience a pleasure. I was a newly divorced, single mom when we met, and for the first time, a designer actually cared about improving the quality of my living while being respectful and mindful of my budget, without prejudice. We found Jody through thumbtack and could not be more happy with the work she did for us. We have a small law office. Jody was very attentive to us, worked within our budget (both in terms of her fees as well as her proposals for furnishings/decorations for our office. Most importantly, Jody always responded promptly to any concerns or questions that we had. When I first met with Jody I had no idea what to expect out of this whole experience. I was pregnant with my first child, my husband and I had just purchased our new home and had planned to do some MINOR renovations which we couldn't wait to get started on. We knew we needed to bring someone in to help us because this was our dream home and we wanted it to be perfect. I sat down with Jody and showed her our plans and right away she was throwing ideas my way and giving me that vision that I just couldn't grasp on my own. I'm not sure if it was her expertise of the trade or her amazing personality that made me feel so comfortable but we clicked right away and I basically hired her on the spot. Fast forward a month or so and our MINOR renovations unexpectedly left us with a chimney and some walls(that also ended up being torn down.) My husband and I were in a panic and had no idea how we were going to manage this project but thanks to Jody we did and we now live in the home of our dreams. Jody helped with every little detail of our home. She sat with us for hours going over floor plans, different furniture lay outs, looking at tiles, fabrics, wall coverings, different finishes for all our appliances/furniture, window treatments, lighting, carpets, wood floor samples and stains. You name it she did it! She perfected each paint color in our home to a point where we get compliments all the time on how nicely everything flows and how beautiful all the colors are. She knew our style from some images she requested I send her and from there on she was on point with every little detail of our home. When we weren't loving something..which was rare... she would always say "You can't like it, you have to LOVE it..we will find something else, don't rush!" And she would do just that, sometimes by the next day. I am an extremely indecisive person and Jody was always so patient with me. She would come to our house with a ton of samples, I would make a decision and then call her before she had even gotten home to tell her I wasn't sure if I made the right choice. She would laugh, because at this point she already knew that phone call was coming and she always said "Don't rush, I will find some other options and you let me know what you want to do." And she did just that and ironically I would always go with what she had originally chosen to show us. We would text her at all hours of the day/night with images and thoughts and she always got back to us within no time at all and always reassured us that our home was going to be perfect and that there was nothing to worry about. Our conversations more than likely ended up totally off topic and we would end up chatting for a while about everyday stuff which was also something I always appreciated and admired about her. No matter how busy her life was, she made time for us and our project. Jody put us in contact with a ton of great vendors and held our hands throughout the way with each one of them. If there was a mix up in our order I would call her and within minutes she had already contacted the vendor and got back to us with an answer/solution. She would go out of her way to pick up items that we needed and would deliver them to us right away and the same went for if we needed to return something to a vendor. There was never a favor we asked of her that she said no to and at times I don't know how she did it with a smile on her face because we were extremely needy! Jody helped us achieve the home of our dreams and we will forever be grateful for all of her hard work. We love working with her and will continue to do so for all the smaller decorative details of our home and we plan on asking for her expertise again when we fill up our other spare bedroom. She made our home building/decorating experience fun and less stressful, we truly don't know how we would have done it without her. Besides Jody being the best at what she does: she is personable, kind, witty and extremely down to earth and an absolute pleasure to work with. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Jody Fierz graduated high honors from CIDA (Council for Interior Design Accreditation), School of Visual Arts in NYC BFA in Interior Design from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Furthermore has successfully passed the NCIDQ and LEED AP ID&C. In addition all of her employees have also attended college for Interior Design. Jody Fierz Interiors pays for all exams to further their qualifications.
