Joe and Denise Martin, husband and wife owners of AJM Earthscaping, are STUPENDOUS. Knowledable, creative, hardworking, responsive and just the nicest people, they are a JOY to work with. I am simply THRILLED with the end result of my BEAUTIFUL landscape renovation this summer. It was a large project, consisting of extensive hardscape (Joe’s area of expertise) involving grading and installing a large (24’ x 14’) patio with Techo-Bloc slabs and grading, redirecting drainage and installing over 2000 sq. feet of Techo-Bloc pavers for the front walkway, turn-around area in front of double garage and driveway to the street, and softscape (Denise’s area of expertise) involving designing, preparing and planting 7 BEAUTIFUL planting areas both in front of the house and in the backyard, which took over 2 months and there was never a moment when I was not excited about how it was turning out. AJM Earthscaping offers a not often found combination in landscape design as the company combines hardscape and softscape so well. Because Joe and Denise are each totally respectful of the other’s work, a landscape project with them is seamless from start to finish. I have had very few remodeling projects inside or out where I have been totally satisfied with every decision and detail, but my landscape renovation with AJM Earth is certainly one of them. I would recommend them UNRESERVEDLY for any landscaping project you have. Hire them—you won’t be disappointed!

As a new homeowner, Denise was extremely helpful to my confusion and concern over what do to with my poor conditioned back yard. She over extended herself with loads of information pointing me in the right directions. I’m very grateful for the help and information even before following through with any work!

What an AMAZING experience. This was the first time I used a true professional landscaper, and I chose them based on reviews, and the care they took when Denise and Joe came to view our project. Denise started off listening to my (low maintenance) desires, and made beautiful drawings and suggestions for what would work. Once I approved their fair estimate, they scheduled the job, arrived exactly on time as promised, and brought along an exceptionally friendly hard working crew. They worked for two days NON-STOP, clearing out excess growth, dead bushes, weeds - and planting three breath-taking beautiful flower gardens. Their work TOTALLY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. They transformed messy ugly areas into a place of beauty. I LOVE my new garden, and hope am in AWE of their work. I just hope I can maintain to do their work justice. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND AJM Earthscaping, and will use them for more projects. I particularly appreciated the drawings, advice and follow up by Denise. HIRE THEM - you will not be disappointed!

AJM team thank you for the excellent job!! Our project had several challenges, and AJM offered us their ideal design, project management, and all the necessary engineering as part of their scope. From the beginning, AJM not only provided their estimate they also presented a complete project plan and took the time to meet with us in person to review and answer any of our questions. Also. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our prices are on a per project basis and can be an all inclusive package or a per hour installation.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each client is worked with closely, developing the vision as we walk off the property, taking photos and developing sketches to bring that vision to life. Some have no idea what they are looking for, others have the vision and we make it happen. But each client is as involved as they want to be, and are kept informed every step of the way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My husband and I have owned and operated our excavating business for 35 years and my husband holds a home improvement contractors license for just as long, licensure is not available or required in excavation. I have worked in the landscape design/horticulture professionally with our family run business for the past 5 years, and have been an avid gardener for decades. I have received my tree & shrub pruning training thru the New York Botanical Gardens and my certification in horticulture and landscape design from the New York Botanical Gardens.
