I coach with a practical heart. I have a nature that is a combination of creative visionary and practicality. Not only have I helped many people over the years but aside from professional skills, I have moved through many life changes and losses myself. I know how to help people move from pain to passion and purpose. I specialize in Tough Life Stage Changes and Family and Relationship Changes, as well as all issues related to the adoption community. Loss of all types, Grief, Sandwich Generation, Finding new purpose, Retirement Changes (not financial), and losing, fixing, finding relationships. Watching people blossom and transform their lives in ways they never thought possible. I most enjoy people who are committed to changing the way they do things and want to see differences in their life. Coaching is more than talk. It involves being willing to set goals and to follow through with actions. Your coach is part of the team to help you with that but you are the one making an investment in yourself.

Iris came into my life at a very critical turn. Suffering from depression for years, I began withdrawing further and further into myself. I had been working with my doctor and taking the medication he prescribed, but it just wasnt enough. I rarely left the house except to go to work and I associated only with family and only as needed. I wanted to make changes, but I didnt know how to take that first step. Iris put a lot of effort into getting to know me. She is generous with her time and talents. Iris listened carefully and shared tools and ideas that were tailored to my specific needs. I knew within the first two sessions that I was on the right track and with the right life coach. Im not where I want to be yet, but I am definitely on the right track. Iris breathes life back into flagging hopes and dreams. I feel courageous again for the first time in a long while.

Iris coached me during one of the most difficult periods of my adult life. I would cite, among her many strengths, her ability to "hear" a client. "Hearing" a client is much more than listening to words; hearing a client acknowledges a client's mood, energy, and thought processes. Iris has remarkable recall and there is no need to "start from the beginning" for every session. Iris prepares meticulously. She is able to avoid creating an unhealthy relationship of dependence. Her suggestions and assignments make a coaching session a shared venture, a balanced relationship. Iris is able to identify a client's strengths and weaknesses and use her insight to steer a client in a healthy direction.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I tried an experiment s couple of years ago. It worked on the honor system. If someone can truly not afford my normal fees, they can view my price points and propose an offer based on price points. Depending on my case load, I may or may not be able to accept but ask. I do need to fill my schedule with enough clients who pay full fees to be able to reduce the fee at times for others.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Have an initial free Access Change/Discovery Session where you get info, learn if coaching can help you, and we determine if we are a good fit to work together. We set a schedule and goals, you complete some initial information and we begin, with phone sessions and email support. I also at times have groups around a specific problem or topic, for clients who cannot afford one to one coaching and who would benefit from group support and coaching.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am continuously taking training. I have achieved my PCC level designation by the International Coach Federation. There are all sorts of coaching training programs out there. The main training I took for my professional certification was an exciting and rigorous program and time commitment.
