Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. 75% of the work we do is directly related to virus and/or spyware infections. The remainder is either faulty hardware such as hard drives, RAM chips, cracked LCD screens, etc.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Shop around. Ask questions not only about price, but about their guarantee AFTER you pay for the repair and take the computer home. We are always happy to talk to you on the phone if you have questions once you get your computer home. We never charge for the "little" things...call us anytime with questions, and if we can help you over the phone, we will.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Most computer problems can be avoided by having adequate virus and spyware protection loaded on your computer. However, adequate does not mean the "free" programs available on the Internet, or the versions that are provided "free" when you subscribe to Internet service through Comcast, AT&T, etc. You should purchase your own antivirus/antispyware protection that comes with a subscription service that automatically downloads and installs updates. Our preferred antivirus/antispyware software is Webroot, and that is what we sell in our store, use on our own computers, etc. That does not mean other programs are not good...we just prefer Webroot.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. We value our customers and stand behind all of our work, with a 30 DAY "No Questions Asked" GUARANTEE. If you don't believe your computer is working right within 30 days after picking it up from us, we will work on it again for FREE! We will continue to work on your computer until you are completely satisfied (unless you keep reinfecting your machine with viruses...that is the only exception to our warranty)
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. We like providing a high quality service at an affordable price. There are many computer repair companies that you can choose from - we strive to give you the best value for your money. We will fix it right and usually for less than the other guys! If you have a quote from another repair company, we will do our best to beat it!
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Q: My computer is slow, has a virus, has popups, etc. How much will it cost to fix it?
A: The repair cost will vary based on the acutal problem, however we never do work to your computer without first providing you with a quote. And once we give you a quote, the cost does not change, even if it takes us longer than we quoted. A typical slow computer with virus and/or spyware infections will take from 1.5 to 2 hours to fix, which is from $117 to $156, plus tax. YOU WILL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT THE COST WILL BE BEFORE WE DO THE WORK!
Q: Do you charge a diagnostic fee?
A: Yes, we charge a $29 diagnostic fee. However, the diagnostic fee is waived once you accept our quote. You only pay the $29 diagnostic fee if, after receiving our quote, you decide not to fix your computer.
Q: Why do you charge a diagnostic fee?
A: in order to properly diagnose a computer problem, we must spend time with your computer to run tests, etc. The diagnostic fee simply covers a portion of the labor that we must spend to properly diagnose a computer. Remember, the diagnostic is FREE if you accept our quotation for your computer repair!
Q: Do you buy, or trade, used computers?
A: Yes! If you would like to trade-in your old computer bring it in and let us take a look at it. If it is something that we can refurbish and sell used in our store, we will pay you for it, or give you a credit toward a new computer, other computer repair services, etc.
Q: Do you sell used desktops and laptops?
A: Yes! We buy or trade used computers that people no longer want (see answer above). One person's "old" computer is another person's "new" computer! We refurbish used computers, replace parts when necessary, wipe the hard drives of all personal information, upgrade when necesary, and sell them as refurbished computers with a 30-day hardware warranty!
Q: Do you sell new computers?
A: Yes! We sell new computers, however we very rarely "stock" new computers in our store. Since we do not have the buying power of larger box stores such as Staples, Best Buy, etc., we cannot stock our store with new computers. However, many of our customers rely on our expertise when purchasing a new computer - we will sit down with you and discuss your needs, and either order a computer based on your specifications, or custom-build a computer right here in our shop!
Q: Can you fix my INSERT PRODUCT HERE? We will attempt to fix anything and everything you bring to us that is even remotely related to computers or electronics. And if we can't fix it, you don't pay! Bring us your XBox360, Playstation 3, Wii, iPhone, iPod, iPad, DVR, camcorder, GPS, etc., etc., etc.......!!
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. Too many to pick one favorite! But the best are usually related to the stories about how a computer was damaged! Ones that stick out in our minds are 1) ran over my laptop with my car (how in the world did that happen ??!!, 2) my wife threw my laptop at me and the screen cracked (no comment), 3) my son/daughter stuck something in the CD slot (in there we've found credit cards, lollipop sticks, coins, just to name a few!!)
