I have had several appraisal done on our home and have had lovely, professional experiences with all but one. Elliott stood out as unprofessional, lazy and unethical. Absolutely horrible experience. He took less than 20 minutes to inspect a 3 floor home, didn’t care to look at several areas of concern and then had the nerve to ask me to share with him the work of the previous appraisers, which would negate the whole purpose of the independent reviews and is considered unethical. He then took longer than promised to deliver his report, which appeared to be based on some phantom property that bears no resemblance to the house he was hired to inspect. He asked me to do most of his work for him - again, not only lazy but unethical, as certified appraisers are not supposed to be influenced by homeowners. He forgot/neglected to take key photos and asked me to take them for him after the fact, not surprising given, as mentioned, he spent less than half an hour on the property. And his demeanor was bullying, condescending and, frankly, creepy. I researched his history and found a case of ethical concern in his past, wish I had known before wasting money for him to essentially do nothing. Heed my warning, if you are looking for a genuinely fair and accurate appraisal, do not hire this person. Feel free to reach out directly to me, as I have had lovely experiences with 4 other very professional certified appraisers in the area.

Barclay, I have no apologies giving you a very well written and accurate report. This is the very first bad review I had in 38 years. I understand you want to keep your moms home however you do have 3 siblings that had their own appraisals done and I’m sure they were lined up with my finding. Your home is a no brainer colonial. I am a very ethical appraiser with a good record. I wish you nothing but the best. Good luck.
