FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We believe in clear, upfront communication so there are no surprises during your project. Because every kitchen and custom build is unique, our pricing is tailored to the specific materials, dimensions, and complexity of your vision. How We Quote Comprehensive Estimates: Your quote includes everything from design and fabrication to professional installation. We break these down into line items so you can see exactly where your investment is going. Material Transparency: We provide a range of material options—from high-quality MDF and Melamine for budget-conscious projects to premium hardwoods for heirloom-quality builds. Discounts & Incentives Multi-Room Projects: Planning a kitchen renovation and a laundry room update at the same time? We often offer bundled pricing for multiple projects booked and executed in the same window. Fees & Payment Terms The 50/40/10 Structure: To secure your spot on our shop schedule and purchase materials, we typically require a 50% deposit. A progress payment of 40% is due upon delivery/installation, with the final 10% settled only once the "punch list" is complete and you are 100% satisfied. Change Orders: We understand that ideas evolve! If you decide to change a design or material after the contract is signed, we simply issue a clear Change Order so you approve the price difference before that work begins.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Working with a new customer is an exciting process of turning an idea into a functional piece of art. To ensure your project is a success, I follow a structured four-step journey from the initial spark to the final install. Step 1: The Initial Consultation Every great project starts with a conversation. We’ll discuss your goals, style preferences, and budget. Site Visit: I’ll come to your home to take precise measurements and assess the structural layout. Inspiration: We’ll look at your reference photos or my portfolio to align on the "look and feel." Step 2: Design & Material Selection Once I understand your needs, I move to the drawing board. 3D Renderings / CAD Drawings: I provide detailed sketches so you can visualize exactly how the cabinetry or renovation will look in your space. Material Choice: We’ll select the right materials, whether it's 3/4" Birch Plywood for a natural wood look or White Melamine for a clean, durable finish. Step 3: Precision Fabrication After you approve the design, the real work begins in my shop. Hand-Crafted Quality: I cut, join, and finish every piece with meticulous attention to detail. Communication: I’ll send you photo updates of the progress so you can see your project coming to life. Step 4: Professional Installation The final step is bringing the project home. White-Glove Install: I treat your home with total respect, using dust containment and ensuring every cabinet is perfectly level and scribed to your walls. Final Walkthrough: We’ll do a final "punch list" check together to ensure every hinge is smooth and every detail is exactly as you imagined.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My "education" is a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern technical expertise. I believe that in woodworking, your best teachers are the materials themselves and the years spent perfecting every cut. Mastery of the Craft: I have spent years honing my skills in custom cabinetry, joinery, and furniture design. This hands-on experience allows me to understand wood movement, structural integrity, and the fine details that separate a "stock" cabinet from a custom masterpiece. Technical Design Training: I utilize advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and 3D rendering software. This allows me to provide you with a digital preview of your project, ensuring the layout is perfect before I ever make the first cut in the shop. Finish & Coating Expertise: I am trained in professional-grade finishing techniques, including HVLP spray systems and high-durability coatings. This ensures your custom build aren't just beautiful, they are built to withstand the wear and tear of daily life. Industry Standards & Safety: I stay current with the latest CT Building Codes and safety regulations. My business is fully registered and insured, ensuring that every renovation is not only stunning but compliant with all local safety standards.
