FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The price for our SAT/ACT tutoring varies depending on what services you hire us for. Our "Traditional Plan", which we've offered since our inception, costs $80/hour for one-on-one tutoring and is reduced to $64/student/hour for 2-on-1 and $56/student/hour for 3-on-1. You also have the option to request extra services from us at an additional per-hour cost. Details are available on our website. We also offer classes for up to 14 students. Our 30-hour SAT class costs $695, books included, and our 24-hour ACT class costs $625. Please call if you have questions about any of our offerings. We also will customize an offer for you.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
A very common call we get from parents begins with a statement similar to, "I have an honor roll student at (so-and-so) High School with an exceptional GPA, but whose test scores are lagging behind where I'd like them to be." For some students, this means lagging in the high-400s or low-500s on the SAT (low-to-mid 20s on the ACT). For others, it means they're starting higher with higher goals. Standardized tests are very different from in-school tests. Most students don't know the best way to approach these exams. Our job is to teach each student the best way to maximize their abilities when taking the test. We know the test, we know what to assign for homework, and we give our students the tools to succeed.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Kick the tires! Ask to see their material, ask about their teaching methods, inquire about homework that the students will receive and see if you feel comfortable with the program. A good provider will not promise you or guarantee you higher scores, a good provider will promise to give a student the tools to succeed - after that, success is in the student's court.
