Working with College Planning Partnerships proved to be invaluable. David’s ACT scores were quite impressive. English, 34; Math, 35; Reading, 35; Science 31, Composite, 34 (the 99th percentile). He was very prepared for the test, thanks so much for all of your training. With our older child, we worked locally with a tutor and we were skeptical at first about working remotely online with your tutors. David was so prepared for his ACT in such a short time. He excelled with his testing and we feel as though this would not have been the case without your guidance. David scored in the 99th percentile.

I am so pleased to have worked with College Planning Partnerships! Their experience, clarity, and excellent tutors really made the difference for me and helped me achieve my desired score. Before, I struggled with pacing and understanding what the test was really looking for. However, the sessions I took helped create a step-by-step plan that I would follow for each section. The help I received was specific to my needs and weaknesses on the test. They did not teach the test as if there was a set formula to doing well. My tutors were very encouraging and motivating. Also, after each session, my tutors provided extensive feedback to myself and my parents on my performance during the session. This was invaluable information. They had more faith in my abilities than I did! I would highly recommend College Planning Partnerships to anyone in need of SAT or ACT prep.

I am so glad that I decided to take advantage of the SAT prep classes at College Planning Partnerships. Sam and Zac were incredibly helpful in preparing me for the SAT and I went into the test more confident than I ever had for standardized tests in the past. Initially I was skeptical about the online tutoring, but I quickly realized that it was an extremely useful tool. With the offices being almost an hour away, the online tutoring was very convenient for my family and me and it allowed for much more flexibility with planning. Even though it was online, I didn’t feel like any part of the tutoring was lacking because the tutors were so engaged and all of the materials we would have used in person were right in front of me on my computer screen. These prep classes really helped to make the test seem much less intimidating and I became more relaxed and calm when taking the test as a result. I learned so many useful test-taking strategies and was able to manage my time much more effectively. After taking the SAT for the first time, my scores were much higher than my PSAT scores earlier this year, and critical reading, which had often been my weakest section in past standardized tests, became one of my strongest sections on the SAT. Thank you so much for all of your help!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

The price for our SAT/ACT tutoring varies depending on what services you hire us for. Our "Traditional Plan", which we've offered since our inception, costs $80/hour for one-on-one tutoring and is reduced to $64/student/hour for 2-on-1 and $56/student/hour for 3-on-1. You also have the option to request extra services from us at an additional per-hour cost. Details are available on our website. We also offer classes for up to 14 students. Our 30-hour SAT class costs $695, books included, and our 24-hour ACT class costs $625. Please call if you have questions about any of our offerings. We also will customize an offer for you.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

A very common call we get from parents begins with a statement similar to, "I have an honor roll student at (so-and-so) High School with an exceptional GPA, but whose test scores are lagging behind where I'd like them to be." For some students, this means lagging in the high-400s or low-500s on the SAT (low-to-mid 20s on the ACT). For others, it means they're starting higher with higher goals. Standardized tests are very different from in-school tests. Most students don't know the best way to approach these exams. Our job is to teach each student the best way to maximize their abilities when taking the test. We know the test, we know what to assign for homework, and we give our students the tools to succeed.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Kick the tires! Ask to see their material, ask about their teaching methods, inquire about homework that the students will receive and see if you feel comfortable with the program. A good provider will not promise you or guarantee you higher scores, a good provider will promise to give a student the tools to succeed - after that, success is in the student's court.
